Richard Wagner (Leipzig, 1813 - Venice, 1883)Autograph letter signed, dated 26.9.1874, to his agent Carl Voltz in Wiesbaden. A beautiful letter about the rights to the music and Voltz's commission on revenue from "Rienzi" performance. He received 1000 florins from the National Theatre of Pest for the opera and agrees to the commission of 250 florins, to be withheld by the correspondent. He asks Voltz to send a draft specifying the rights for the performance at the Theatre, in order to issue a receipt for what he has received. "Rienzi" was performed for the first time in Dresden in 1842 and its success marked the beginning of Wagner's international fame. 1 p. In-8°, 16 lines. In German.
