John Le Carré (Poole, 1931)Autograph letter signed dated 4 feb ’91, by the British author of espionage novels. David John Moore Cornwell worked for the British Security Services and the Secret Intelligence Service before becoming a full-time author after the success of his novel "The Spy Who Came in from the Cold" (1963). He was awarded the Goethe Medal in 2011. Le Carré replies to Rolando Pieraccini thanking him for his kind letter and adding: "I respect your good intentions, & I hope they are well received, but I’m afraid I cannot subscribe to your project". 1 p., with autograph address in the letterhead.Included two very intense and unusual large-format photographic portraits signed (17.5 x 24 cm; 24 x 30 cm). One of them with autograph dedication signed, dated May 29 1979. On the rear, le Carré inscribes "Photograph by Stephen Cornwell/May 1979".
