Paul Signac (Paris 1863 - ib., 1935)Autograph letter signed, not dated, by the acclaimed French painter, who, together with Georges Seurat, developed the artistic technique Pointillisme. In the first part of the letter, Signac transcribes a letter he has received: "Mon cher ami, Je vous copie la réponse de Lelong: communiquez-la à Blanche pour lui montrer qu'on s'est occupé de son protégé". He then informs about his participation in a car race in Cannes and expresses regret for not having won due to a technical failure: "où malgré de savants virages, je n'ai pu mener a la gloire le (...) automobile d'un ami... un sacré clavetage ayant claqué au moment". Signac was a great enthusiast of car races and automobiles. 1 p. In-4°.
