Charles Nicolas Lafond (Paris 1774 - ib., 1835)Beautiful autograph letter signed, not dated, addressed "au citoyen Duhamel", by the French neoclassical painter, who decorated (together with Pierre-Luc-Charles Ciceri) the Notre-Dame cathedral in Reims in 1825. Lafond addresses the lawyer Benoît Duhamel (1741-1794), Bourg deputy for the Third-State Assembly in 1789, praising the young actress Maria Gros. ”Mademoiselle Gros mérite bien d'être encouragée.
