She worries about her correspondent's feelings since she has not yet thanked him for his "...bonté parfaite (...) Vous avez été un ami pour la veuve d'un homme qui de sa tombe vous en sait gré monsieur oui soyez en certain...". Still, she had had someone convey her gratitude "...et de vous prier en même temps d'être mon interprète auprès du Roi et de la Reine et de madame Adélaïde pour leur dire que j'étais touchée au fond de l'âme de ce qu'ils avaient fait pour moi..." (therefore the letter can be dated after 1830, the year of Louis-Philippe's accession to crown).She has been very ill and is still undergoing a long and exhausting treatment: "...il faut bien des choses pour fondre une glande de la grosseur d'une énorme prune, mais enfin avec du courage, cela se peut. J'en aurai plus que pour l'opération parce qu'on prétend qu'il se trouve en cet endroit une foule de petits vaisseaux qui causeraient hémorragie..".
