Description
Autograph draft signed, dated “Buenos Aires, Mayo 98” with many autograph corrections and additions by the Argentine writer and poet. He is best-known works, “Ficciones” and “El Aleph”, published in the 1940s, are collections of short stories exploring motifs such as dreams, labyrinths, chance, infinity, archives, mirrors, fictional writers and mythology. Borges’s works have contributed to philosophical literature and the fantasy genre, and have had a major influence on the magic realist movement in 20th century Latin American literature. Draft of the note entitled "For the centenary of Góngora", published in the magazine Síntesis, Buenos Aires, Year I, Nº 1, June 1927: “Yo siempre estaré listo a pensar en don Luis de Góngora cada cien años. El sentimiento es mío y la palabra Centenario lo ayuda. Noventa y nueve años olvidadizos y uno de liviana atención es lo que por centenario se entiende: buen porcentaje del recuerdo que apetecemos y del mucho olvido que nuestra flaqueza precisa…”. 1 p.
