Description
Typed letter signed, dated “23 May 1952” by the British mathematician, logician, philosopher. Together with his former teacher A. N. Whitehead, Russell wrote Principia Mathematica, a milestone in the development of classical logic. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature "in recognition of his varied and significant writings in which he champions humanitarian ideals and freedom of thought”. Addressed to Miss. Hocken: “…The visit from you and Eric Neville gave me much pleasure. So did your very kind present…”. ½ p. With letterheaded address.
