Description
Autograph letter signed, dated “July 29th” by the British Victorian painter and sculptor, whose works depicted historical, biblical, and classical subject matter in an academic style. His paintings were enormously popular and expensive, during his lifetime, but fell out of critical favour for many decades in the early 20th century. Addressed to Mr. Roberti, arranging for making a picture. 2 pp. ½. In-8. With letterhead.
